Klorendik asit veya 1,4,5,6,7,7-heksaklorobisiklo [2.2.1] -hept-5-en -2,3-dikarboksilik asit baz alev geciktiriciler ve polimerlerin sentezinde kullanlan klorlu bir hidrokarbondur.
Klorendik asit, yüksek miktarlarda Diels-Alder reaksiyonu ile endüstriyel olarak üretilir. Doymam alev geciktirici poliester reçineleri ve plastikletiricilerin sentezinde bir ara madde olarak ve yün için alev geciktirici ilem olarak kullanlr. Kimya endüstrisi ekipmanlar için fiberglas takviyeli reçinelerin üretiminde büyük bir kullanm vardr. Özel mürekkepler ve boyalarda alkid reçineleri yapmak için kullanlabilir. Baskl devre levhalarnn imalatnda kullanlan epoksi reçinelerinde bir sertletirici madde olarak kullanlr.
Sentetik yalayclardaki ar basnç katk maddeleri olarak, klorendik asit esterleri ve amin tuzlar kullanlr.
Avrupa’da, klorendik asitin% 80’i, yap ve nakliye için aleve dirençli kompozitler üretiminde, geri kalan, korozyona dayankl sv depolama ekipman malzemelerinde kullanlmaktadr. ABD, Latin Amerika ve Asya’da, alev geciktirici uygulamalarda% 20-30, geri kalan korozyona dayankl plastiklerde kullanlr.
Chlorendic acid, or 1,4,5,6,7,7-hexachlorobicyclo[2.2.1]-hept-5-ene-2,3-dicarboxylic acid, is a chlorinated hydrocarbon used in the synthesis of some flame retardants and polymers.
Chlorendic acid is industrially produced in high volumes by Diels-Alder reaction. It is used as an intermediate in synthesis of unsaturated flame-retardant polyester resins and plasticizers, and as a finishing flame-retardant treatment for wool. A major use is in production of fiberglass-reinforced resins for chemical industry equipment. It can be used to make alkyd resins for use in special inks and paints. It is used as a hardening agent in epoxy resins used in manufacture of printed circuit boards.
Esters and amine salts of chlorendic acid are used as extreme pressure additives in synthetic lubricants.
In Europe, 80% of chlorendic acid is used in production of flame-resistant composites for building and transportation, the rest is used in materials for corrosion-resistant fluid storage equipment. In the USA, Latin America, and Asia, 20-30% is used in flame retardant applications and the rest is used in corrosion-resistant plastics.
