LiBr, lityum karbonatn hidrobromik asit ile ilenmesiyle hazrlanr. Tuz dier alkali metal bromürlerden farkl olarak birkaç kristalin hidrat oluturur.
Lityum bromür, klima sistemlerinde kurutucu olarak kullanlr.
Lityum bromür su ile birlikte sourken sourken bir tuz olarak kullanlr. Aksi halde tuz, organik sentezde bir reaktif olarak yararldr.

LiBr is prepared by treatment of lithium carbonate with hydrobromic acid. The salt forms several crystalline hydrates, unlike the other alkali metal bromides.
Lithium bromide is used in air-conditioning systems as desiccant.
Lithium bromide is used as a salt in absorption chilling along with water. Otherwise the salt is useful as a reagent in organic synthesis.
