N-Methylmorpholine is a cyclic tertiary amine, which is used as Solvent, Polyurethane Foam Catalyst, Emulsifier, Corrosion Inhibitor, Pesticide intermediate and Organic synthesis intermediate in the Chemical Industry.

N-methylmorpholine is used in the synthesis of fine chemical products such as surfactants, lubricating oil coolants, metal rust inhibitors, and fiber treatment agents.

N-Methylmorpholine is used for synthesizing rubber accelerators and other fine chemicals, as a polyurethane catalyst, and as a catalyst for the synthesis of aminobenzylpenicillin and hydroxypenicillin. 

N-Methylmorpholine (NMM) is an aliphatic, tertiary amine.

N-Methylmorpholine is soluble in water, alcohol, and ether and can be used as a solvent for rayon and corrosion inhibitors.

Production: N-methyl morpholine oxide can be produced by double oxidation.

N-methylmorpholine is an important fine chemical product. 

N-methylmorpholine is an excellent solvent, emulsifier, corrosion inhibitor, and polyurethane foam catalyst and can also be used as a pesticide intermediate. 

The synthesis method of N-methylmorpholine mainly includes N-methylation method using morpholine as raw material, ring method using diethanolamine as raw material, the ring method using diethanolamine as raw material and the synthesis method using dichloroethane as raw material, etc.

N-methyl morpholine, as an organic chemical intermediate, has the dual properties of tertiary amine and ether, can be used as surfactants, extractants, corrosion inhibitors, but also widely used in the field of pesticides and pharmaceuticals. 

N-methyl morpholine is a heterocyclic tertiary amine, with the properties of ether and Amine, widely used in the synthesis of pesticides, fungicides, plant growth regulators and other pesticide compounds, but also for surfactants, lubricating oil coolant, synthesis of fine chemical products such as metal rust inhibitors and fiber treatment agents.

N-methyl morpholine can be used as a catalyst for polyurethane foam production, pharmaceutical synthesis and organic synthesis, can also be used for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, surfactants, emulsifiers, corrosion inhibitors and other fine chemical products, can also be used as solvents, extractants and polyurethane coating curing agents.

N-methyl morpholine appears as a water-white liquid with an ammonia-like odor. 

N-Methylmorpholine is less dense than water and insoluble in water. 

N-Methylmorpholine may be moderately toxic by ingestion, inhalation and skin absorption. 

N-Methylmorpholine is very irritating to skin, eyes, and mucous membranes.

N-Methylmorpholine is a colorless liquid. 

N-Methylmorpholine is used as a base catalyst for generation of polyurethanes and other reactions. 

N-Methylmorpholine is produced by the reaction of methylamine and diethylene glycol as well as by the hydrogenolysis of N-formylmorpholine.

N-Methylmorpholine is the precursor to N-methylmorpholine N-oxide, a commercially important oxidant.

N-Methylmorpholine can be used to synthesize N-butyl-N-methylmorpholinium bromide by reacting with bromobutane

N-Methylmorpholine – Preparation Method

formaldehyde and then formic acid was slowly added dropwise to morpholine, and during the reaction, reflux was performed automatically, and CO2 was released. 

Formic acid is added, heated, and refluxed for 4-5 hours, then cooled and immediately distilled by adding NaOH to collect all fractions before boiling point 99 °c. 

Then NaOH is added to the distillate until saturation, cooling, separation of the oil layer, drying, fractionation, and collection of boiling point 114.5~117 C fraction is the finished product.

APPLICATIONS of N-Methylmorpholine:

N-Methylmorpholine is mainly used as a solvent, catalyst, and corrosion inhibitor 

N-Methylmorpholine is also used for rubber vulcanization accelerator and other fine chemicals synthesis, also used as polyurethane plastic foaming catalyst, the catalyst for the synthesis of aminobenzylpenicillin and carboxy benzylpenicillin.

N-Methylmorpholine can be produced by oxidation with hydrogen peroxide N-methyl morpholine oxide. 

Recently, with N-methyl morpholine oxide as a solvent, a “new technology for preparing synthetic fiber by solvent” has been developed abroad, opening up broad prospects for applying N-methyl Morpholine.

N-Methylmorpholine is used as a neutralizing amine for water reducible alkyd coatings
