Phosphorous acid ( Phosphonic Acid)

Phosphorous acid, or phosphonic acid, is the compound described by the formula H3PO3.

Phosphorous acid ( Phosphonic Acid), also called orthophosphorous acid, is one of several oxygen acids of phosphorus, used as a reducing agent in chemical analysis

Phosphorous acid ( Phosphonic Acid) is used in the following products: fertilizers, biocides (e.g., disinfectants, pest control products), lubricants and greases, plant protection products, washing & cleaning products, pH regulators and water treatment products, and photo-chemicals.

Phosphorous acid ( Phosphonic Acid) 70% is used to make phosphonates ( HEDP, ATMP, and DTPMP) for water treatment and oilfield applications and stabilizers for PVC.

Phosphorous acid ( Phosphonic Acid) 70% is used for the manufacture of phosphonates (used in detergents and as water conditioners), inorganic phosphites (used as stabilizers), and for the production of agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals.

Phosphorous acid is an intermediate in the preparation of other phosphorus compounds.

Organic derivatives of phosphorous acid, compounds with the formula RPO3H2, are called phosphonic acids.
