Polysorbate 40 E 434 is a light white and Polysorbate 40 powder emulsifier with the chemical formulation of Polysorbate 40 C62H122O26 and 1283,82 GR / MOL using molecules, known as the food code. Polysorbate 40, cosmetics, Polysorbate 40 detergent and Polysorbate 40 are used as emulsifiers in many different sectors. The Polysorbate 40 is used in pharmaceuticals for various reasons, including the modification of an active ingredient’s absorption.  Polysorbate 40 and 80 are listed as welling or clarifying agents in ophthalmic products and as cleaning, wetting, or solvent agents for contact lenses in concentrations not to exceed 1.0 percent. Polysorbate 40 is classified as an “inactive ingredient or pharmaceutical necessity” in topical analgesic, antirheumatic, otic, burn, and sunburn treatment/prevention products. Polysorbate 40 and 80 (Tween 40 and Tween 80) are used in the formulation of biotherapeutic products for both preventing surface adsorption and as stabilizers against protein aggregation. Polysorbate 40 is amphipathic, nonionic surfactants composed of fatty acid esters of polyoxyethylene sorbitan being polyoxyethylene sorbitan monolaurate for polysorbate 40 and polyoxyethylene sorbitan monooleate for polysorbate 80. It is a mixture of the partial esters of sorbitol and its mono-and dianhydrides with edible palmitic acid and condensed with approximately 20 moles of ethylene oxide per mole of sorbitol and its anhydrides.
