VP/VA Copolymer. PVP/VA W-735 (Polyvinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate, Polivinilpirolidon Vinil Asetat) is a film former. PVP/VA W-735 (Polyvinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate, Polivinilpirolidon Vinil Asetat) is produced by the free-radical polymerization of monomers in the ratio of 70/30 (VP/VA). PVP/VA W-735 (Polyvinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate, Polivinilpirolidon Vinil Asetat) offers strong & stiff hold, enhanced high humidity curl retention and good propellant compatibility. Storage and handling

Abstract

In this study, the influence of copolymer composition on drug-polymer solubility was investigated. The solubility of the model drug celecoxib (CCX) in various polyvinylpyrrolidone/vinyl acetate (PVP/VA W-735 (Polyvinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate, Polivinilpirolidon Vinil Asetat)) copolymer compositions (70/30, 60/40, 50/50 and 30/70 w/w) and the pure homopolymers polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and polyvinyl acetate (PVA) was predicted at 25 °C using a thermal analysis method based on the recrystallization of a supersaturated amorphous dispersion (recrystallization method). These solubilities were compared with a prediction based on the solubility of CCX in the liquid monomeric precursors of PVP/VA W-735 (Polyvinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate, Polivinilpirolidon Vinil Asetat), N-vinylpyrrolidone (NVP) and vinyl acetate (VA), using the Flory-Huggins lattice theory (liquid monomer solubility approach).

The solubilities predicted from the liquid monomer solubility approach increased linearly with increasing VP/VA ratio from 0.03-0.60 w/w. Even though the solubilities predicted from the recrystallization method also increased with increasing VP/VA ratio from 0.02-0.40 w/w, the predicted solubility seemed to approach a plateau at high VP/VA ratios.

Increasing positive deviations from the Gordon-Taylor equation with increasing VP/VA ratio indicated strong interactions between CCX and the VP repeat unit, which was in accordance with the relatively high solubilities predicted using both methods.

As the solubility plateau may be a consequence of steric hindrance caused by the size differences between CCX and the VP repeat units, it is likely that a CCX molecule interacting with a VP repeat unit hinders another CCX molecule from binding to the neighboring repeat units in the polymer chain.

Therefore, it is possible that replacing these neighboring hygroscopic VP repeat units with hydrophobic VA repeat units, could increase the physical stability of an amorphous solid dispersion without compromising the drug-polymer solubility. This knowledge could be used advantageously in future development of amorphous drug delivery systems as copolymers could be customized to provide optimal drug-polymer solubility and physical stability.

Uses Medical

PVP/VA W-735 (Polyvinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate, Polivinilpirolidon Vinil Asetat) was used as a plasma volume expander for trauma victims after the 1950s.It is not preferred as volume expander due to its ability to provoke histamine release and also interfere with blood grouping.

PVP/VA W-735 (Polyvinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate, Polivinilpirolidon Vinil Asetat) is used as a binder in many pharmaceutical tablets;[2] it simply passes through the body when taken orally. (However, autopsies have found that crospovidone (PVPP) contributes to pulmonary vascular injury in substance abusers who have injected pharmaceutical tablets intended for oral consumption.[3] The long-term effects of crospovidone or povidone within the lung are unknown.)

PVP/VA W-735 (Polyvinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate, Polivinilpirolidon Vinil Asetat) added to iodine forms a complex called povidone-iodine that possesses disinfectant properties.[4] This complex is used in various products like solutions, ointment, pessaries, liquid soaps and surgical scrubs. Povidone is commonly used in conjunction with other chemicals. Some of these, such as iodine, are blamed for allergic responses, although testing results in some patients show no signs of allergy to the suspect chemical. Allergies attributed to these other chemicals may possibly be caused by the PVP/VA W-735 (Polyvinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate, Polivinilpirolidon Vinil Asetat) instead.[22][23]

Ces solubilités ont été comparées à une prédiction basée sur la solubilité du CCX dans les précurseurs monomères liquides de PVP/VA W-735 (Acétate de vinyle polyvinylpyrrolidone, Polyvinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate, Polivinilpirolidon Vinil Asetat), N-vinylpyrrolidone (NVP) et acétate de vinyle (VA), en utilisant la théorie du réseau Flory-Huggins (solubilité des monomères liquides approche).

Les solubilités prédites à partir de l’approche de solubilité des monomères liquides ont augmenté linéairement avec l’augmentation du rapport VP / VA de 0,03 à 0,60 w / w. Même si les solubilités prédites à partir du procédé de recristallisation augmentaient également avec l’augmentation du rapport VP / VA de 0,02 à 0,40 w / w, la solubilité prédite semblait approcher un plateau à des rapports VP / VA élevés.

Des écarts positifs croissants par rapport à l’équation de Gordon-Taylor avec un rapport VP / VA croissant ont indiqué de fortes interactions entre le CCX et l’unité de répétition VP, ce qui était conforme aux solubilités relativement élevées prédites en utilisant les deux méthodes.

Comme le plateau de solubilité peut être une conséquence de l’encombrement stérique causé par les différences de taille entre les unités répétées CCX et VP, il est probable qu’une molécule CCX interagissant avec une unité répétée VP empêche une autre molécule CCX de se lier aux unités répétées voisines dans le chaîne polymère.

Par conséquent, il est possible que le remplacement de ces unités de répétition VP hygroscopiques voisines par des unités de répétition VA hydrophobes, puisse augmenter la stabilité physique d’une dispersion solide amorphe sans compromettre la solubilité médicament-polymère. Ces connaissances pourraient être utilisées de manière avantageuse dans le développement futur de systèmes de délivrance de médicaments amorphes car les copolymères pourraient être personnalisés pour fournir une solubilité et une stabilité physique optimales de médicament-polymère.

Il forme des films transparents, flexibles et perméables à l’oxygène qui adhèrent au verre, au plastique et au métal. Il offre une tenue solide et rigide, une meilleure rétention des boucles à haute humidité et une bonne compatibilité avec les propulseurs. Le PVP/VA W-735 (Acétate de vinyle polyvinylpyrrolidone, Polyvinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate, Polivinilpirolidon Vinil Asetat) trouve une application dans la formulation de produits de soins capillaires et sans alcool comme les laques, les colorants, les mousses, les gels, les lotions / crèmes coiffantes et les stylers novateurs. Qu’est-ce que le copolymère PVP/VA W-735 (Acétate de vinyle polyvinylpyrrolidone, Polyvinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate, Polivinilpirolidon Vinil Asetat)?

Le copolymère PVP/VA W-735 (Acétate de vinyle polyvinylpyrrolidone, Polyvinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate, Polivinilpirolidon Vinil Asetat) est l’ingrédient présent dans la plupart des produits de soins capillaires traditionnels qui fournit le facteur de maintien. Il est donc très courant dans la plupart des laques pour cheveux, mais également dans les gels, les cires, les pommades et les crèmes coiffantes. C’est un ingrédient synthétique dérivé du pétrole.

PVP/VA W-735 (Acétate de vinyle polyvinylpyrrolidone, Polyvinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate, Polivinilpirolidon Vinil Asetat) (également connu sous le nom de polyvinylpyrrolidone) était l’ingrédient principal des premiers laques pour les cheveux vraiment réussis au début des années 1950. Ce polymère fonctionnait comme laque pour les cheveux car il était soluble dans l’eau. Cela signifiait qu’il pouvait être rincé lorsque vous vous lavez les cheveux. Pour s’adapter à de nombreux domaines d’application, les séries E et I de copolymères PVP/VA W-735 (Acétate de vinyle polyvinylpyrrolidone, Polyvinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate, Polivinilpirolidon Vinil Asetat) sont disponibles sous forme de solutions à 50% dans l’éthanol et dans l’isopropanol2, respectivement. Il existe quatre copolymères distincts dans le groupe E: E-335, E-535, E-735, E-735 et trois dans le groupe I: 1-335, 1-535, 1-735. Chacun diffère par le rapport des monomères et, par conséquent, par les propriétés – sensibilité à l’eau, viscosité, point de ramollissement, etc.

Cela offre aux formulateurs une flexibilité considérable dans la création de nouveaux produits pour des applications spécifiques. Les films transparents formés par tous ces copolymères sont caractérisés par leur adhérence, leur éclat, leur dureté et leur réhumidification à l’eau. Les copolymères non modifiés ayant les rapports inférieurs de la vinylpyrrolidone à l’acétate de vinyle présentent une plus grande résistance à l’humidité que les produits ayant des rapports élevés.

Stockage et manutention

Les copolymères PVP/VA W-735 (Acétate de vinyle polyvinylpyrrolidone, Polyvinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate, Polivinilpirolidon Vinil Asetat) sont stables pendant au moins un an dans des conditions normales de stockage, mais des précautions strictes doivent être prises pour éviter l’accumulation d’humidité. Les séries E et I ont des points d’éclair compris entre 10 et 13 ° C (50-55 ° F) et sont classées comme matériaux inflammables (DOT inflammables). Les copolymères PVP/VA W-735 (Acétate de vinyle polyvinylpyrrolidone, Polyvinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate, Polivinilpirolidon Vinil Asetat) sont disponibles sous forme de poudres blanches ou de solutions claires dans l’éthanol, l’isopropanol et l’eau.
