ZBED, ZBEC, or Zinc Dibenzyl Dithiocarbamate is an active form of Zinc Dithiocarbamate that can be modified by MBT, MBTS, etc.
Zinc Dibenzyldithiocarbamate is non-staining and non-discoloring and achieves safer processing than Zinc Dibutyl Dithiocarbamate.
In latex, Zinc Dibenzyldithiocarbamate is less likely to cause pre-cure at room temperature than other dithiocarbamates.
However, ZBED (Zinc Dibenzyldithiocarbamate) is a typical Ultra-accelerator at average curing temperatures.
Zinc Dibenzyldithiocarbamate is also a Secondary accelerator for the continuous vulcanization of butyl rubber extrusions.
Zinc Dibenzyldithiocarbamate is typically used to replace more conventional dithiocarbamates in compounds to reduce or eliminate the generation of potentially hazardous nitrosamines during the vulcanization process.
Zinc Dibenzyldithiocarbamate is a high-speed primary or secondary accelerator for natural and synthetic rubber.
Zinc Dibenzyldithiocarbamate is a Secondary accelerator for the continuous vulcanization of butyl rubber extrusions.
Zinc Dibenzyldithiocarbamate is a Safe-processing secondary accelerator, and it can be used as a primary in latex.
Zinc Dibenzyldithiocarbamate has high resistance to hydrolysis and low solubility in rubbers.
Zinc Dibenzyldithiocarbamate is fast at higher vulcanization temperatures and is recognized to have low nitrosamine potential.
Zinc Dibenzyldithiocarbamate is used in sheeting, extrusions, latex NR, SBR, IIR, and EPDM.
Zinc dibenzyl dithiocarbamate uses and applications include Accelerator, stabilizer for rubber, latex dispersions, and cement; accelerator in food-contact rubber articles for repeated use; activator for thiazoles; in food packaging adhesives.

• ZBEC is a primary or secondary ultra-accelerator in NR, IR, BR, SBR, NBR, HR, EPDM, and latexes.
• ZBEC has less accelerating effects than ZDMC and ZDEC.
• ZBEC is Effectively used in natural and synthetic latexes for faster curing under average (low) temperatures than ZDMC and ZDEC, with less scorching and blooming.
• ZBEC has a high resistance to hydrolysis and low solubility in rubbers.
• ZBEC is recognized to have low nitrosamine potential.
• ZBEC is Used in sheeting, extrusions, and latex.
• ZBEC is Soluble in CS2, benzene, chloroform, alcohol, and diethyl ether.
Ultra-accelerator for NR and synthetic rubbers.
General purpose accelerator for NR latex.
Safest of all zinc dithiocarbamates.
ZBEC is often used as a secondary accelerator with thiazoles.
ZBEC has to be used with sulfur and zinc oxide.
ZBEC disperses quickly in dry rubber. It does not affect latex stability.
In wet rubber, it gives excellent pre-vulcanization resistance.
In association with HTS, ZBEC improves antireversant effects.
For compounds containing a high level of silica, ZBEC improves filler-rubber bound.
Non-colouring and non-staining. Odourless.
Standard CP1 pallet: 300 kg net
Shelf-life: 2 years in its original packaging
Store in a dry and cool place and away from direct sources of heat or sunlight.
General rubber goods include latex articles, dispersions, adhesives, wire and cable, and extruded sealing profiles.
What are Ultra and Secondary Accelerators?
The designation “ultra” is applied to accelerators that speed the vulcanization rate to the most significant degree.
Generally, smaller quantities of sulfur can be used in ultra-accelerated compounds to produce optimum physical properties in a shorter curing time than can be obtained with other classes of accelerators, such as thiazoles or sulfenamides.
Ultra accelerators are often used in combination with primary accelerators, and they are sometimes called “secondary” accelerators.
Within the range of zinc dithiocarbamates, ZBEC provides the longest scorch resistance and excellent pre-vulcanization resistance in latex.
Unique Uses of Zinc Dibenzyldithiocarbamate
Dibenzyldithiocarbamic acid zinc salt is a useful analytical tool for detecting copper in plant and biological tissues.
It has also been used in the preparation of dithiocarbamate ligands for the stabilization of gold nanoparticles.
Zinc dibenzyldithiocarbamate is a chemical crosslinking agent that reacts with mycobacterial RNA polymerase at the active site.
It is a zinc diethyldithiocarbamate and dehydroabietic acid complex that can be used to inhibit the growth of mycobacteria.
Zinc dibenzyldithiocarbamate has also been shown to react with human mitochondrial DNA, forming hydrogenated complexes.
These complexes are stabilized by magnesium ions and monocarboxylic acids found in fatty acids.
